Nutley Street Ashland

Ben designed and drew building plans. We replaced the kitchen with a new layout and removed the kitchen walls to open the floor plan of the main part of the house. To remove the walls we re-framed the roof structure with an engineered plan. We installed custom cabinets in a new configuration with an island, glass counter top, range hood, granite sink, and new dishwasher and refrigerator placed in new locations. We installed new lights fixtures, and oak flooring to match the remainder of the house. In the master bathroom, we bumped out the walls and installed a freestanding bathtub, tub faucet glass tiles on the walls, and heated tiles on the floor. The front stair case and deck were installed with concrete footings and rebar, pressure-treated wood and steel connections, flashing, cedar treads with stainless screws, and railings built with 4×4 utility panel and cedar. From the stair landing we built a circular retaining wall and gate. The back deck was also installed with concrete footings and rebar, pressure-treated posts, beams, and lumber attached with steel connections, cedar treads with stainless screws, and railings built with 4×4 utility panel and cedar. A French door with sidelights and transom window was installed to access the deck.
